Rule Behavior explains how feature mappings determine entitlement checks, paywall behavior, and user status in Zuora Zephr.

With feature mappings enabled:

• Entitlement checks are performed directly against Zuora Billing

• Payment forms use rate plans from Zuora Billing, not from the Zephr catalog

• The intermediate product setup in Zephr is no longer required

Paywall behavior depends on how feature rules are configured. Entitlement is evaluated based on the feature mapping selected during feature rule setup.

A user is considered a customer (entitled user) if they pass the entitlement check against the mapped feature.

• Anonymous: Users without a session

• Registered: Users with a logged-in session who do not pass the entitlement check against the feature rule’s configured mapping

• Customer: Logged-in users who pass the entitlement check against the feature rule’s configured mapping
