AR Aging Snapshot: Reporting currency fields

Describes the AR Aging Snapshot reporting currency fields, how Zuora selects the reporting currency, and when the converted balances and FX rate fields are populated.

What this feature does

Zuora already stores AR Aging Snapshot balances in:

  • Transaction currency (the currency on the invoice, payment, etc.)

  • Home currency (the company’s accounting / FX home currency), including “as of” amounts on the snapshot date

A third currency view is now available: Reporting currency.

When Reporting Currency is enabled for the tenant, each AR Aging Snapshot row can also store:

  • Which reporting currency applies

  • The FX rate used to convert from home currency to reporting currency

  • The converted balance and rounding amounts

  • The same set of values evaluated as of the snapshot’s As Of Date

Customers can see these fields in exports and reporting through the AR Aging Snapshot data source (when they have Currency FX permission).

Condition

What happens to reporting fields

Reporting Currency feature is disabledAll 7 reporting fields are empty (null). Snapshot job still completes normally.
Reporting Currency is enabled, but no reporting currency is configured (neither tenant/org setting nor customer account setting)All 7 reporting fields stay empty (null). Snapshot job still completes normally.
Reporting Currency is enabled and a reporting currency is resolvedReporting Currency is set. Rate / amount fields are filled when FX rates are available.
Reporting Currency is resolved, but the FX rate is missingThe snapshot data is not exposed to customers until the missing rate is uploaded and the job reaches Completed. After the rate is available, an FX fix process can fill the reporting rate/amount fields and complete the job; then customers can see the data.

The reporting currency used

Zuora picks one reporting currency per snapshot row:

  1. Customer Account reporting currency (if the tenant property “Enable BA / Account Reporting Currencies” is on and that account has a reporting currency configured)

  2. Otherwise, the organization / Currency Conversion Setting (CCS) reporting currency

This matches how Aging Report / AR Aging Detail treat reporting currency.

How conversion works (important for accurate wording)

  • Conversion direction is always Home Currency → Reporting Currency.

  • It does not convert directly from transaction currency to reporting currency in this feature.

  • If home currency = reporting currency, the rate is 1, and reporting amounts equal the transaction balance (no FX conversion needed for reporting in that special case).

  • Rounding follows the same FX rounding rules already used for home-currency amounts (based on the reporting currency’s decimal places and the tenant’s FX rounding mode).

Two time points (same idea as existing Home Currency fields)

Concept

Meaning

Original / transaction-dated reporting fieldsUse the FX rate as of the transaction’s rate date (parallel to Home Currency Rate / Home Currency Balance).
As Of reporting fieldsUse the FX rate as of the snapshot’s As Of Date (parallel to As Of Home Currency Rate / Balance).
