Create custom report widgets
Create a custom report and make it available as a widget on the homepage.
Custom report widgets let you add reporting views to the homepage when standard widgets do not fully match your workflow or when your team wants to track specific metrics.
Best practices for report widgets:
- Use clear titles that describe what the widget shows.
- Create widgets that answer practical questions such as what needs attention today or which items may affect close readiness.
- Avoid vague names such as Report 1, Dashboard Chart, or My Widget.
- Go to the reporting area.
- Select Create new report.
- Choose the appropriate data source.
- Configure the report parameters.
- Select the fields for the X-axis and Y-axis.
- Choose an aggregation method such as count, sum, or average.
- Add filters as needed.
- Choose whether to display the report as a table or chart.
- Enter a clear report title.
- Save the report.
- To make the report available on the homepage:
- Open the saved report and select the option to make the report available on the homepage.
- Confirm the widget name and display settings, and then save the report.
- Return to the homepage and open the widget library.
- To add the configured report widget to the homepage, select the widget type Summary Report Chart and then add the saved report widget.
