Testing recommendations in Avalara for Brazil

Use the Avalara sandbox to validate the Brazil configuration before enabling it in production.

Test data

Prepare representative test data with the following information:

  • Correct seller and buyer information required by the Brazil configuration.

  • Complete business, tax, contact, and address information used by the templates.

  • Correct Brazil business-region and account e-invoicing-profile assignments.

  • Any mandate-specific metadata or custom-field values required by the enabled templates.

  • Representative billing documents and tax scenarios for the document types supported by the Brazil package.

Test scenarios

Test the following scenarios where applicable to your Brazil configuration:

  • Billing documents created from subscriptions, product rate plan charges, and custom charges.

  • Representative line items, discounts, and tax scenarios used by your business.

  • Missing or invalid required data, such as tax, address, or reference information.

  • E-invoice status synchronization after Avalara processes a document asynchronously.

  • Regeneration after correcting source data.

  • Download of the generated e-invoice file and review of the returned response data.

Validation checklist

Verify that Zuora:

  • Generates the expected Brazil payload from the default template for each enabled document type.

  • Submits the document to Avalara through the configured service provider.

  • Receives and stores the Avalara response.

  • Updates the e-invoice status and reason using the Brazil mappings.

  • Supports status resynchronization for documents that remain in an intermediate processing state.

  • Generates an updated payload after you correct the source data and regenerate the e-invoice.

  • Makes the generated e-invoice file and mapped response data available for retrieval.

Resolve template, data, or mapping errors in the sandbox before promoting the configuration to production.
