Testing recommendations in Avalara for Italy
Use the following recommendations to validate the Avalara E-Invoicing and Live Reporting integration for Italy.
The Italy pre-integrated package is expected to include validated default templates, response mappings, end-to-end Avalara UAT coverage, and an operational runbook for resync, regenerate, and download flows.
At the current ticket status, draft templates for Italy have been created and weaver rendering has been completed, but end-to-end tests have not yet been completed because the mandate is not activated due to the requirement for real IDs.
Prerequisites in Avalara
Confirm the following in Avalara before testing:
Italy activation is complete
The Italy mandate/process is available and selected
Test users have the required access
The seller profile is complete with all required identifiers
The expected document download options are available for the Italy flow
Prerequisites in Zuora
Verify the following in Zuora before testing:
The Italy business region is configured with the required seller details
The Italy account-level e-invoicing profile is complete
Sold-to contact data is populated correctly
Invoice, credit memo, and debit memo test documents are generated with valid source data
Default template mappings and response mappings are in place
What to validate
When you design Italy tests, validate that:
Zuora-generated billing documents are submitted to Avalara using the supported Italy coverage model
The generated document matches the expected CLEARANCE process and UBL payload structure for the package.
Avalara accepts valid documents and returns usable statuses and downloadable outputs
The configured response mappings populate expected operational data in Zuora
Operational actions such as resync, regenerate, and download work as expected for Italy.
