Calculated Charge Support

This topic explains how calculated charges automatically calculates recurring fees as a percentage of eligible spend, including prerequisites and key limitations.

A calculated charge is a recurring charge whose invoice amount is automatically calculated as a percentage of the total spend of other eligible charges over a billing period. This charge is calculated as a percentage of eligible spend, with optional minimum and maximum fee thresholds, based on flexible account and charge filters. The final amount appears on the invoice as a standalone invoice item.

When a subscription has a calculated charge, Order Billing Preview and Subscription Billing Preview results will include the calculated charge if its eligible charges are either in the same invoice or have been billed already.

Note:

Order Preview API end points will not return metrics, e.g., charge metrics, order metrics etc for calculated charge.

Pre-requisites

The prerequisites required before working on calculated charge is listed below:

  • New Catalog is enabled.

  • Order or Order Harmonization is enabled.

  • Invoice Schedule feature is disabled.

  • Prepaid Drawdown feature is disabled.

Considerations

Calculated charge is not supported for the following metrics:

  • Charge Metrics

  • Charge Metrics TCB

  • Order Delta Metrics

  • Order Metrics

  • Ramp Metrics
