Configure waterfall pricing

Learn how to configure waterfall pricing by navigating through product catalog options, adjusting parameters, and reviewing pricing summaries.

  1. Navigate to Products > Catalog .
  2. Select an existing product with a plan that has Dynamic Pricing enabled.
  3. Click the vertical ellipsis and select Edit plan.
  4. In the Charges section, click Pricing Waterfall.
  5. In Adjust Parameters, select the input values that affect pricing rules, for example, Country, then click Submit.
  6. Review the pricing summary:
    1. Total Base Price: The starting price before dynamic adjustments or discounts are applied.
    2. Total Changes: The net impact of pricing changes across pricing layers, for example, segment pricing and discounts.
    3. Final Net Price: The resulting price after all pricing layers are applied.
  7. Review the waterfall Pricing Setup table:
    1. Base Price: The default list price defined for the charge.
    2. Segment Price: Any applicable segment, contract, or negotiated pricing.
    3. Adjusted Price: The calculated price after Dynamic Pricing logic is applied.
    4. Net Price: The final price after all applicable pricing layers are evaluated.

      Use the step-by-step breakdown to understand which layers affected pricing, where the price changed (or did not change), and the resulting final amount.

  8. To compare outcomes, update the input parameters (for example, choose a different Country) and click Submit again. Zuora recalculates the waterfall using the new context and updates the step-by-step breakdown.
  9. Click Close to go back to the Edit Plan screen.
