Amendment quotes or renewal quotes creation

Create amendment quotes or renewal quotes using New Quote (New) button

Use the New Quote (New) button to create amendment or renewal quotes in Salesforce.

  • Ensure that the New Quote (New) button has been added to the Opportunity Detail or Account Detail page. For more information, see Configure Opportunity, Account, and Quote page layouts.

  • Ensure that you are on a Zuora Quotes version 10.0.

  • Ensure that the Zuora 360 package is set up in your Salesforce org. It is a requirement to create amendment or renewal quotes through the New Quote (New) button.

You can create an amendment quote to change the Invoice Owner in Quote Studio. See Change invoice owner in amendment quotes.

  1. In your Salesforce org, navigate to the Account Detail page of an account or the Opportunity Detail page of an opportunity.
  2. Click the New Quote (New) button.
  3. In the area of Step 1: Select a Billing Account, select a billing account from the table. After a billing account is selected, all subscriptions associated with this account are displayed in the Step 2: Select a Subscription area.
  4. Hover over the subscription you want to amend or renew in the area of Step 2: Select a Subscription. The Amend icon_amend and Renew icon_renew icons are displayed.
  5. Click the Amend icon_amend or Renew icon_renew icon. The system will fetch subscription products from Zuora in the background, and load products to the amendment or renewal quote once the process is complete.
    When you amend or renew a subscription, the value of the Quote Name field is automatically generated based on the following rule:

    • For amendment quotes, the generated name is in the format of Amendment Quote for followed by the subscription name.

    • For renewal quotes, the name is in the format of Renewal Quote for followed by the subscription name.

    We recommend that you change the quote name when the amendment or renewal quote is loaded on the Quote Studio page.
  6. Configure quote information and submit the configuration upon completion. For instructions, see Configure quote information on Quote Studio page.
    Note: During amendment or renewal quote processes, you cannot perform simultaneous updates to Billing Period Alignment field and other metric fields. This capability remains exclusive to the new quote creation flow.
