Charge Segment metrics for amendment ramp quote with term decrease and complete interval removed, multiple updates, and future-dated remove
This article explains how the Charge Segment metrics are mapped to the Charge Subtotal columns within the charge table in an Amendment Quote when the term is decreased with a complete interval removed, multiple updates are made, and future-dated removal.
Consider a ramp Quote that originally had a 36-month initial term, which started on Jan 1, 2025, with an Annual ramp frequency, resulting in 3 ramp intervals. In the Amendment Quote, the initial term is reduced from 36 months to 24, resulting in Interval 3 no longer existing on the Quote.
Interval 1:
Interval 2
Interval 3:Interval 3 no longer exists on the Quote.
In Interval 2, the Subscription totals below the charge table display a negative delta, but there are no deltas in the Rate Plan Charge table because the charges in Interval 3 are no longer displayed.
The charge in Interval 2 is updated multiple times and then removed.
The first charge segment has no delta and has a charge subtotal of $10 for the one month of Jan, 2026.
The charge was updated on Feb 1, 2026, and this segment has a subtotal of $20 * 1 month = $20 subtotal and delta representing the $10 difference from the original charge for 1 month = $10 delta.
On Mar 1, 2026, the charge was again updated to $30. The subtotal for this third segment is $30 price for 1 month = $30, and the delta represents the difference from the originally contracted price of $10, which is $20 for 1 month = $20 delta.
Finally, the charge was removed on Apr 1, 2026, and this removal segment had a negative delta of -$90, representing the nine months from Apr 1, 2026 to the end of the Interval, Dec 31, 2026.
The negative delta associated with the fourth segment for this charge, which would be in Interval 3, is not shown in the charge table, but the negative delta associated with its removal is included in the Quote/Subscription totals below the charge table.
