PIX for EBANX payment gateway integration

Zuora supports one-time PIX payments through the EBANX payment gateway, enabling merchants to offer a local payment option in Brazil.

Zuora supports PIX through the EBANX payment gateway integration, allowing merchants to offer a local payment option for customers in Brazil.

With PIX on EBANX, Zuora creates a PIX payment request and returns PIX-specific payment data that your checkout experience can present to the customer, such as a QR code and a copy-and-paste PIX code. The customer completes the payment in their banking app, and Zuora updates the payment status asynchronously after receiving the final status from EBANX.

Standard PIX is designed for one-time, customer-present payment flows and does not create a reusable stored payment method. To support recurring payments, use PIX Automático for EBANX. For more detailed information, seePix Automática for EBANX Payment gateway integration.

Note that:

  • Pix is available for the Brazil (BR) region only and the currency support is limited to BRL (Brazilian Real).

  • Customers must have a PIX enabled bank account in Brazil.

Supported and unsupported features

Supported

  • Initiate one-time PIX payments through EBANX for Brazil checkout flows
  • Display PIX payment data to customers, including QR codes and copy-and-paste PIX codes
  • Receive asynchronous payment status updates after payment initiation
  • Use PIX as a distinct payment option in Zuora Payment Forms

Unsupported

  • Create reusable payment methods from standard one-time PIX transactions
  • Create PIX payment methods directly through the Zuora UI or generic API-only payment method creation flows

One-time payment flow

Zuora supports a one-time PIX payment flow through EBANX. When the customer selects PIX and submits the payment form, Zuora sends a payment request to EBANX and receives PIX-specific data for the customer action step. This data can be presented as a QR code or a copy-and-paste PIX code.

After the customer completes the payment in their banking app, EBANX sends the payment status to Zuora. Zuora then updates the payment to its final state. If the customer does not complete the payment before the PIX expires, the payment moves to a terminal failed or expired state and must be retried by creating a new PIX payment request.
