Configure First Data Payment Method Updater
This guide details the configuration of First Data Payment Method Updater in Zuora, including prerequisites, registration, and setup instructions for using the service with Visa and Mastercard in the US and Canada.
This article explains how to configure First Data PMU in Zuora to use it with the First Data Account Updater. Currently, Zuora's First Data Payment Method Updater service only supports the data of the Visa and Mastercard credit card in the US and Canada regions.
Prerequisites
You must register the First Data Account Updater service first and create a First Data PMU in your tenant, then use this instance to certify with First Data.
While registering the First Data Account Updater using your First Data merchant account, you have to request SFTP mailbox from First Data with the following information correctly configured:

After configuring these settings, you must obtain the public PGP key in your Zuora tenant and give it to First Data for the file encryption.
Configure Zuora PMU for First Data
Navigate to Settings > Payments > Setup Payment Method Updater. On the Setup Payment Method Updater page, select FirstData as the Updater Type and click add payment method updater. If you have already configured a payment method updater profile, make sure to set the one you want to use as the Default.
Once the Add Payment Method Updater page is displayed, you can fill in the necessary information for your account updater profile. The image below shows an example of the information required. An example form filled out is displayed below.

| Using Test Environment | Available after PMU instance is created. This option allows you to test the PMU process on a maximum of 3000 records per day. |
| Merchant Name | This is the name that identifies the merchant in the First Data system. This information is provided by First Data. If you have more than one merchant account, please clarify with First Data which merchant account to use for the Account Updater service. |
| Merchant Number | This is the number that identifies the merchant in the First Data system. This information is provided by First Data. If you have more than one merchant account, please clarify with First Data which merchant account to use for the Account Updater service. |
| Visa BIN | Assigned by First Data Merchant Services (FDMS). FDMS will identify the Visa Acquirer BIN. |
| MasterCard ICA | Assigned by FDMS. FDMS will identify the MasterCard Acquirer ICA. |

| Incoming Job Name | The job name is an 8-character all uppercase identifier for the Incoming file transmission. This value is provided by First Data. |

| Updater Services | Select the updater service(s) that you want to use: Visa Account Updater, Mastercard Automatic Billing Updater, or both. You must first be enrolled in the service(s) you want to use through the First Data Account Updater program. |
| Rules | Specify a value for the Payment Method Updater service to start several days prior to the Bill Cycle Day. Zuora recommends using a value of 5 to 7 days prior to the Bill Cycle Day, because the First Data Account Updater service will take approximately 3 to 7 days to process the credit card account information for updates. Check Only update payment methods for customer accounts associated to this gateway/processor to include only the credit cards for customer accounts with First Data set as the payment gateway (under Billing and Payment Term). Disable this field to send all credit card information to First Data (the default value). |
