Set Up the Checkout.com Account Updater

Configure the Checkout.com Account Updater for use with Zuora Payment Method Updater (PMU) for Visa and MasterCard.

  1. Review the supported update events for Checkout.com.
    • The card details have been updated, including a change to the card number.
    • The card details have been updated where only the expiry month or expiry year has changed.
    • The card has been disabled.
    • The card details have not changed.
  2. Ensure prerequisites are met.
    • You must work directly with Checkout.com Support to set up your Checkout.com Account Updater and SFTP server. Inform Checkout.com Support that you intend to set up an Account Updater in the Zuora system.
    • If you want to test this functionality in the sandbox environment, submit a request to Zuora Global Support.
    • Checkout.com requires a file sequence ID for each uploaded file. To ensure proper sequence ID generation, do not associate multiple Zuora PMU instances with the same SFTP server.
  3. Navigate to the Payment Method Updater configuration.
    • Click your username at the top right.
    • Select Settings > Payments > Set Up Payment Method Updater.
  4. Select Checkout.com as the Updater Type and add a new payment method updater.

Select checkout.com from the Updater Type list, and click add payment method updater.

  5. Configure the Basic information area.
    • Processor: The PMU functionality has to be approved by your gateway/processor. Once enabled, Zuora will automatically send Checkout.com payment methods to the Checkout.com gateway for updates.
    • Active: Select this box to activate your Checkout.com Payment Method Updater in Zuora. When selected, PMU automatically submits credit card information for updates. If multiple active updaters exist, they might submit the same cards and receive the same updates.
    • Name: Enter the name to identify the updater.
  6. Complete the credential configuration.
    • Account ID: Enter the Account ID provided by Checkout.com.
    • SFTP Username: Enter the SFTP username assigned by Checkout.com. The username must be less than 20 characters and should not include special characters. You cannot configure the same SFTP username for multiple Zuora PMU instances.
  7. Select the updater services to use.
    • Select the Visa Account Updater (VAU) checkbox.
    • Select the MasterCard Automatic Billing Updater checkbox.
    • Both Visa and Mastercard services are supported.
  8. Configure the Rules area.
    • Start Payment Method Updater service days prior to the Bill Cycle Day: The default is 8 because Checkout.com takes approximately 8 days to process credit card updates.
    • Only update payment methods for customer accounts associated to this gateway/processor: If selected, only credit cards for applicable customer accounts are included.
      • The default payment gateway of the customer account is Checkout.com.
      • The customer account has no default gateway, but the tenant default gateway is Checkout.com.

Disable this option to send all credit card information to Checkout.com.

    • Only update the default payment method for AutoPay customer accounts:
      • If selected, only default credit card payment methods for AutoPay-enabled accounts are included.
      • Clear this option to submit all credit cards for all customer accounts, regardless of AutoPay status.
  9. Save the updater configuration.

Click save updater information to save the configuration.
