Summary Report widgets

Learn about the Summary Report widgets.

Summary Report widgets allow users to surface report visualizations directly on the Zuora Home dashboard. These widgets reuse the same chart configuration and data from Reporting and display the most recent completed report run.

This feature enables quick access to key metrics such as revenue trends, subscription counts, and invoiced amounts without navigating into the Reporting module.

Note:

To access these enhancements, switch to Zuora's new Home page experience.

Enable a report as a widget

To make a report available for dashboard widgets:

  1. Navigate to the Reports page.

  2. Open a Summary Report with chart visualization.

  3. Enable the Enable as Widget option.

Note:
  • Only Summary Reports with charts can be enabled

  • Disabled reports will not appear in widget selection

Add a widget to the dashboard

To add a widget to the dashboard:

  1. Go to the Home Dashboard.

  2. Click Add Widget > Summary Report.

  3. Select a report from the list (only enabled reports appear).

  4. Click Add.

The widget will be added to your dashboard.

Widget behavior

The widget behaves as follows:

  • Displays the same chart as shown in the Report Run results page

  • Always shows data from the latest completed report run

  • Includes a “Last refreshed at” timestamp based on report execution time (not dashboard load time)

  • Provides a "View Full Report" link for detailed analysis

Refreshing data

The following limitations apply to widget refresh behavior:

  • Widgets do not auto-refresh on dashboard load

  • Click Refresh to run the report on-demand

  • Only one refresh can run at a time

  • Once completed:

    • Widget updates automatically

    • New run appears in Report Runs history

Error handling

If a refresh fails:

  • An error message is shown within the widget

  • Previous successful data remains visible

Permissions and access control

Access to widgets is governed by the following rules:

  • Users can only view and add widgets for reports they have access to

  • Report-level permissions are enforced

Limitations

These are the limitations of dashboard widgets:

  • No automatic refresh on dashboard load

  • Only Summary Reports with charts are supported

  • One report per widget

  • No parallel refresh execution

Benefits

The benefits of dashboard widgets include:

  • Instant visibility into key metrics on login

  • Reduced navigation and faster insights

  • Reuse of existing reporting logic and visualizations
