Country-specific configurations in Avalara for United Arab Emirates

An overview of configuring Avalara E-Invoicing and Live Reporting and Zuora Billing for United Arab Emirates e-invoicing, including supported mandates, formats, templates, mappings, and operational guidance.

If your business sells products and services in the United Arab Emirates, you can configure the E-Invoicing feature to generate e-invoice files based on UAE requirements. According to the epic details for UAE, the supported Avalara mandate is E-Invoice, the supported outbound format is UBL, the Zuora process mapping is PEPPOL, and the supported download types are XML, PDF, and UBL_XML.

The UAE pre-integrated package is intended to include:

  • Default e-invoice templates for Invoice, Credit Memo, and Debit Memo

  • Regulatory-compliant data mappings

  • Default response field mappings and status reason mappings

  • Documented Zuora data model for business regions, account profiles, custom fields, and sample configurations

  • Operational guidance for resync, regenerate, and download flows

For UAE, the out-of-the-box templates support only domestic buyers, meaning buyers within the UAE region. For cross-border transactions, you must customize the default template.
