Kintsugi tax-compliance integration

The Kintsugi integration connects Zuora Billing with Kintsugi’s tax compliance platform to calculate tax on billing transactions and use Zuora data in automated compliance workflows.

Kintsugi is a tax compliance platform for SaaS and ecommerce businesses. The Kintsugi integration with Zuora supports tax calculation within the billing process and connects Zuora transaction data with Kintsugi’s broader compliance workflows.

Kintsugi helps businesses monitor tax exposure, calculate tax across jurisdictions, manage registrations, and automate filing and remittance activities. By connecting Kintsugi with Zuora, businesses can use billing data as part of an automated tax compliance process while continuing to manage subscriptions, invoices, and credit memos in Zuora.

The Kintsugi integration flow

The integration follows this general flow:

  1. Zuora prepares the customer, address, product, and transaction information required for tax calculation.

  2. Zuora sends the transaction data to Kintsugi.

  3. Kintsugi validates the transaction data and calculates the applicable tax.

  4. Kintsugi returns the tax result and any applicable jurisdiction details to Zuora.

  5. Zuora uses the returned tax information in the applicable billing or invoicing process.

  6. Kintsugi uses eligible transaction data for compliance monitoring and related workflows.

Capabilities

The integration supports a connected tax workflow across Zuora and Kintsugi, including:

  • Tax calculation for eligible Zuora billing transactions.

  • Customer and taxable-address data exchange.

  • Product and transaction-level tax processing.

  • Tax results returned to Zuora for billing and invoicing.

  • Compliance monitoring based on transaction activity.

  • Nexus tracking and exposure monitoring.

  • Registration, filing, and remittance workflows managed through Kintsugi.

  • Reporting and audit support through Kintsugi.
