Managing status of entities
A subentity in a multi-entity hierarchy has a status that controls whether the subentity appears in the entity hierarchy and whether you can reuse its name.
Status determines how a subentity behaves in the entity hierarchy. You set status on individual subentities, and the status you can apply depends on the position of the subentity in the hierarchy.
Expired status
You can set the status of a subentity to Expired only if the subentity is a leaf node, which is a subentity that has no child entities.
Note: You cannot set the status of a subentity that has child entities to
Expired.
When a leaf-node subentity is set to Expired:
- The subentity no longer appears in the entity hierarchy.
- Zuora appends Expired to the original name of the subentity.
- You can create a new entity that uses the original name.
Locked status
A subentity in Locked status continues to appear in the entity hierarchy.
