Use of AI in Zuora

Zuora uses artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the experience of some of our products and services. Learn about the Zuora features and capabilities that leverage AI.

  • Chat with Zuora AI: An in-product, context-aware AI experience available in a side panel or full-screen workspace. Users can ask questions, investigate billing and revenue issues, launch runbooks, and take guided actions with human approval, while AI respects existing permissions and tenant controls.

  • Integrated Zuora AI: AI-generated summaries, insights, and recommended next steps are embedded directly throughout Zuora, including across Billing and Revenue workflows. These experiences help users quickly understand accounts, subscriptions, invoices, payments, contracts, and other operational data without manually piecing together context across screens.

  • Zuora Remote MCP Servers: Zuora provides MCP server connectivity so customers can connect supported AI tools and agents to Zuora in a secure, governed way. This allows external AI tools to work with Zuora product knowledge, APIs, SDKs, and tenant data, while still honoring tenant-level AI settings such as read-only versus read-write access.

  • Zuora AI Help : Zuora AI Help quickly guides you to information and empowers you to self-resolve problems. Built on Zuora's Knowledge Center, Developer Center, and curated Support articles, this large language model (LLM)-based feature uses generative AI to help answer your questions from within the Zuora application.

  • Copilot for Analytics : Zuora Copilot for Analytics leverages generative AI capabilities to return text-based responses, visualizations, and tabular data for reporting insights based on natural language questions. This LLM supports natural language to SQL query translation. All queries are run locally within the tenant to return reporting and metric insights so no customer data is stored within or used to train it. This feature is an opt-in feature. Our How we built a reliable and secure AI based feature blog explains how this feature works in more detail.

  • Configurable Payments Retry : This traditional machine learning model analyzes various customer and payment data to determine the optimal time to retry a failed payment, thereby improving collection rates and reducing manual intervention needed for failed payments. This is an opt-in feature based on licensing and does not use any large language model. Our Turning failure into gold blog provides more details on how AI-driven Smart Retry works.

  • Consumption Insights : This feature utilizes machine learning algorithms to forecast usage trends and billable amounts by analyzing historical patterns across products and accounts. Consumption Insights analyzes growth and risk signals by evaluating behavioral shifts over the last 12 months, enabling your organization and teams to take prompt action. These insights help your organization identify anomalies, optimize pricing strategies, and drive expansion.

  • AI Paywall : Zephr AI Paywall uses machine learning to optimize subscriber acquisition and retention for media and publishing companies. It dynamically adjusts pricing and packaging based on deep insights into user behavior, eliminating the need for manual A/B testing and significantly improving conversion rates while minimizing churn. Your data is ring-fenced and is never used to train other customers' decisions. This is an opt-in-only capability.
