Zuora Finance process flow

Know how to set up user access controls, accounting periods, and chart of accounts, and assign accounting codes to transaction types.

  1. Set up permissions and roles

Zuora Finance requires that you have specific permissions to access to your sensitive financial data. By default there are two standard roles, Administrator and Standard User, but you can combine permissions to create your own customized roles.

  2. Set up accounting periods

You'll need to set up accounting periods in Zuora to match your company's accounting periods, so that Zuora Finance can output data appropriately for your systems.

  3. Set up the chart of accounts

Zuora Finance produces reports and exports of your financial data categorized on accounting codes from your Zuora chart of accounts. If you have never used the accounting codes in Zuora, we provide a default chart of accounts that you can tailor to your needs.

  4. Assign accounting codes to transaction types.

Finally, you'll need to associate specific accounting codes with different types of financial transactions, so that Zuora can group and summarize your transactions for accounting purposes.
