Uses of Zuora Finance

At the close of every accounting period, you can use Zuora Finance to:

• Run a trial balance

• Close the period

• Generate reports that provide numbers for summary journal entries for revenue in your accounting system

Planning

Because Zuora Finance makes Zuora an important part of your company's accounting system, and because there are multiple options and approaches available, a company's CFO or Controller often plays an active role in planning your Zuora Finance configuration - by specifying the user permissions policy, accounting periods, accounting codes, and more.

Many of the configuration choices you make - especially the accounting codes - are extremely difficult to change once they are in use. We recommend thoroughly reviewing the Zuora Finance documentation and consulting with the appropriate members of your team before configuring your system. And remember that you can test your ideas in the sandbox environment before implementing them in your production tenant!
