The API sandbox is a sandbox environment for you to test new and changed features before it is deployed to your production environment.

The API sandbox is a customer-facing, multi-tenant environment in which code is deployed before it reaches a Zuora production environment. For quarterly major releases, code is usually deployed to the sandbox one month before it is deployed to production. For minor releases, code is deployed a few days before production, and for emergency patch releases, hours or minutes before production. Zuora customers can purchase any number of tenants in this environment for a recurring annual fee.

API sandbox is co-located in the same data center as the production environment. It runs on bare metal, but on a smaller footprint, and offers less capacity.

The main use cases for API sandbox include the following:

• Training

• Integration testing

• Regression testing

• Release preview testing
