Create an Embedded Dashboard widget

Create an Embedded Dashboard widget to display approved content from an external dashboard or application on the Global Homepage.

  1. From the Global Homepage, click the Add widget icon (Add Widget) icon.
  2. Scroll down and select Custom Widgets at the end of the widget library.
A page showing the available custom widgets is displayed.
  3. Click the Create Widget button and then select Embedded Dashboard.
The widget configuration page is displayed. It has two sections: Basic Info and Configure and Preview.
  4. Under Basic Info, enter a widget name and a description of the widget.
  5. Select Configure and Preview.
  6. In the Provider field, confirm that Salesforce Tableau is selected.
Salesforce Tableau is the only supported provider at this time.
  7. Enter the connection information:
    1. For Tableau View URL, enter the URL of the Tableau view that you want to display in the widget.
    2. For Secret ID, enter the ID of the connected-app secret used to authenticate the Tableau connection.
    3. For Secret Value, enter the value of the connected-app secret used to authenticate the Tableau connection.
      Treat this value as sensitive.
    4. For Client ID, enter the client ID for the Tableau connected app.
    5. For Tableau Username (JWT sub), enter the Tableau Cloud login email associated with the Tableau connection.
Do not enter a localhost username. Credentials and tokens are handled by the service configuration and must not be exposed in client-side code.
  8. Select a supported widget size, or select Custom and specify the width and height.
  9. Click Test Connection and Preview.
  10. Review the widget in the preview area, and confirm that the content displays as required.
If needed, change the preview size to review the widget at another size.
  11. Select Save for Personal Use to save the widget for yourself.
  12. If you are an administrator, select Publish Widget to share the widget with users in the current tenant.

Embedded Dashboard widgets use approved source domains and a sandboxed frame. The external source must permit embedding by Zuora. If the source blocks embedding or the user lacks access, the widget can display an unavailable or error state.
