Learn how to define the condition that initiates an approval chain.

1. Click the Approval Rules tab and click New Rule.
2. Enter a name for the rule.
3. Select the applicable quote type for the approval rule.
4. Select the approval flow and approval chain to which the rule applies.
5. Configure the Rule Criteria.

   For example, configure the condition: MRR equals 0.

6. Select Active to activate the approval rule.
7. (Optional) Select Add Group to group multiple rule conditions.

   If the rule provides an Auto-approve when no match found option, select it when quotes with no matching rule condition should bypass approval.

8. Save the approval rule.

   A quote must meet both the approval flow entry gate and the approval rule conditions before the approval chain is initiated. The approval rule is the configuration that triggers the approval chain.

   You can configure conditions at both levels. Use the approval flow entry gate for conditions shared by multiple rules. Use approval rule conditions for conditions that apply only to a specific approval scenario.
