Subscription communication profile
This articles describes about subscription communication profile and how to select a communication profile in Quote Studio to override or inherit Billing Account communication profiles.
Subscription Communication Profile lets you specify a communication profile for an individual subscription in Quote Studio. Unlike the communication profile on the quote, which applies to the Billing Account, the Subscription Communication Profile applies only to the selected subscription. This allows multiple subscriptions under the same Billing Account to use different communication profiles. Subscription Communication Profile applies for new, amendment, and renewal subscriptions in both Single Subscription Quoting (SSQ) and Multi Subscription Quoting (MSQ).
Prerequisites
Flexible Billing in Quote Studio is enabled in Quote Studio settings.
-
Communication profiles are configured in Zuora Billing for the target entity.
-
Access is available to the Subscription Billing Attributes section in Quote Studio.
-
The Subscription Communication Profile field is added to the
CPQX_Subscription_Billing_Attributesfield set on the Quote Object to display the field in Quote Studio.
No additional communication profile records are required in CPQ X. Quote Studio retrieves the available communication profiles from Zuora Billing.
Select a subscription communication profile
In Quote Studio, under the Subscription Billing Attributes section, select a value from the Subscription Communication Profile dropdown.
-
Default Profile from Account: The default option. The subscription uses the communication profile configured for the Billing Account.
-
Select a specific communication profile to override the Billing Account default for the selected subscription.
Communication profile mapping
When the selected value is Default Profile from Account, CPQ X does not send communicationProfileId to Billing.
For amendment, renewal, and owner transfer CPQ X sets: clearingExistingCommunicationProfile = true. This setting clears any existing subscription-level override in Billing so the subscription falls back to the account default.
