This article presents an overview of the process to create custom quote templates.

1. Download a quote template from Zuora.
   Note: The quote template you download from Zuora includes the new merge fields introduced in Zuora Quotes. If you are using a version of Zuora Quotes earlier than version 7, you need to remove those new merge fields from the template to avoid errors during quote document generation.
2. Customize the template as described below:

   • Add, remove, or update merge fields - see the supported merge fields lists.

   • Format the fields.

   • Display multiple line items using mail merge tables.

   • Add custom fields and custom objects.

   • Troubleshoot any issues.
