Edit an existing customer group

Edit customer groups to modify selection criteria, change group priority, or adjust Smart Retry settings without affecting active retry cycles.

  1. On the Customer Groups tab, in the Actions column, click the menu icon.
  2. Click Edit Group.
  3. In the Update Customer Group window, edit the customer group, and then click Update.

In a customer group, you can modify the selection criteria, change the group priority, update the group status, and enable or disable Smart Retry.

Note: Configurable Payment Retry assigns an invoice to a customer group when the invoice first enters the retry process. Changes that you make to a customer group do not affect invoices that are already in an active retry cycle. Those invoices continue to follow the logic of the customer group to which they were originally assigned, and changes do not restart a retry cycle that is already complete.

For example, if you change the filter conditions of a customer group, the existing retry cycles still apply to all payments within that customer group. This behavior is the same whether or not Smart Retry is enabled for the customer group.
