Configure custom fields for user account creation

Learn how to create custom fields on the User Accounts page to capture additional user information from external identity systems.

The User Accounts module includes standard fields such as first name, last name, work email, and role. It also supports custom fields.

Use custom fields to capture additional user information from external identity systems. For example, if your customer uses its own identity provider, you can use custom fields to store values that come from that system. You define the field type and the data you want to capture, and the fields are displayed for all users that you update.

  1. Navigate to Customers > User Accounts > Settings.
  2. To create and manage additional user attributes for your tenant, expand the Custom Fields section.
  3. Click Add Field.
  4. In the Name field, enter a name for the property.

Use only lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores. You cannot change this value after creation.

  5. In the Display Name field, enter a display name for the property.
  6. From the Type list, select a type for the property.
  7. To require users to provide a value, select the Required field checkbox.
  8. (Optional) In the Default Value field, enter a default value.
  9. (Optional) In the Allowed Values field, enter the allowed values.

Separate multiple values with commas. Leave this field blank to allow free text.

  10. In the Sort Order field, enter a sort order.
  11. Click Create.
