Rip and Replace FAQs

Find answers to common questions about relationships, parameters, Variable Consideration, and validation behavior.

Can multiple ripped transactions be rolled into a single replacement transaction?

Yes. The application supports many-to-one relationships, where multiple ripped lines are rolled over into a single replacement line.

Does the scheduled process require parameters?

No. The Rip and Replacement Process runs without any user-supplied parameters.

When are Variable Consideration entries created?

Variable Consideration entries are generated only when there is a difference between the Revenue Recognized to Date (RTD) and the Total Contractual Value (TCV). The type (positive or negative) depends on whether RTD is greater than or less than TCV.

What happens if RTD equals TCV?

No Variable Consideration entries are created for either the ripped or replacement transaction.

What happens if the reference transaction cannot be found?

The replacement transaction fails validation during collection, and an error is reported.
