Configure POB-level holds

Learn when to use POB-level holds and how to configure them in POB templates so specific obligations are automatically placed on hold.

POB-level holds (Advanced Rules)

If your hold is applied at the POB level, do not use the Criteria Group section. The Data Collection criteria engine explicitly ignores POB-level holds.

When to use POB-level holds: Unlike RC and Line holds—which only trigger when specific contract details match your rules—POB holds are tied directly to defined goods and services in the respective POB template. You configure them when you want every instance of a specific obligation to be placed on hold by default.

Common use cases include pausing contingent deliverables that require explicit customer acceptance or project milestone confirmations, or holding obligation types that mandate internal pricing reviews and strict regulatory sign-offs. This setup ensures that your complex or regulated deliverables are safely paused for review, while standard, non-contingent obligations on the exact same contract can continue to process normally.

Procedure

To automate a POB-level hold, you must set up under the POB template.

  1. Save your base hold definition on this page (leaving the Criteria Group section completely empty).

  2. Navigate to Policies > POB Templates > Advanced Rules.

  3. Select the Advance Rule and use the Assign Holds condition to link your newly created hold to a specific POB template.
