Release holds via mass actions (Bulk)
Use the Mass Action tool to release holds in bulk across multiple revenue contracts, performance obligations, or transaction lines.
For period-end cleanup or large-scale releases, use the Mass Action tool to release holds across multiple contracts simultaneously.
Notes:
Standalone Zuora Revenue: Mass actions support apply and release at the revenue contract, performance obligation (POB), and transaction line levels.
OTR: Mass actions support apply and release holds at the Revenue Contract (RC) and Transaction Line levels only. (POB holds are not supported).
Navigate to Workbench > Manage Mass Actions.
Click the New Batch (+) icon. The New Batch window opens.
On the Batch Details tab, configure the batch parameters:
Name: Enter a unique identifier for the batch.
Action On: Select RC, POB (Not available for OTR) or Transactions (Lines).
Action Type: Select Release Hold.
Holds: Select the specific name of the hold you want to release.
Comments: Provide a mandatory business justification.
Note: The comments you enter here are permanently stamped on every individual hold record released by this batch, providing a clear audit trail.
Click the Filters tab to define the search criteria that will identify the target transaction lines or revenue contracts that need to be released.
Click the Save (floppy disk) icon to create the batch, then close the New Batch window.
On the Batches page, hover over your newly created batch and click the Query Data icon. The system will search for matching records, and the batch status will change from NEW to Data Identified.
Hover over the batch line and click the Review Data icon. The Review Data window displays all identified records.
(Optional) Review the target list. You can manually exclude specific lines from the batch release by toggling the Include for Release Hold column to No.
Click Release Hold to submit the batch and execute the releases.
