Draft and Scheduled Orders

Draft and Scheduled orders explains how commitments behave when added to these orders, including how Zuora stores, manages, and activates commitments when the order is activated or executed.

You can include commitments in draft orders and scheduled orders through the Orders UI and Orders API. Zuora stores the commitment definition in the order. You can view, update, or delete the commitment through the Orders API and the Zuora UI. You can also retrieve the commitment payload through the Orders API. In draft orders and scheduled orders, Zuora does not:

  • Create the active commitment.
  • Establish account or charge associations for the commitment.
  • Perform charge contribution or true-up evaluation.

The commitment remains inactive until the order is activated or executed. Zuora will create the commitment in Active state using the stored definition.
