Scheduled orders in Zuora CPQ
Scheduled orders allow you to create a quote now and send the resulting order to Zuora Billing for execution on a future date. You can schedule new, amendment, renewal, and cancellation quotes.
When you send a scheduled quote to Zuora Billing, its status, stored in the zqu__Status field, changes to Scheduled. Zuora Billing creates the order with a Scheduled status and executes it on the selected execution date.
Prerequisites
Zuora Quotes managed package version 10.67 or later is installed.
You must also have the required profile-based permissions configured by an administrator in .
Ensure that your administrator has configured automatic quote status updates. See Configure automatic quote status updates.
Other considerations
You can create a scheduled order only with an existing billing account.
The execution date must be later than the quote creation date.
Scheduled orders are not supported for multiple quotes together.
Scheduled orders are not supported when ramp is enabled. Selecting Execute this Order in the Future disables ramp for the quote.
Preview is unavailable for scheduled orders.
A scheduled quote cannot be sent to Zuora Billing again while it remains in the Scheduled status.
Preview behavior for scheduled orders
Preview is unavailable for scheduled orders because the order is not executed immediately.
While you create or edit a scheduled order:
Charge amounts and other preview-based values display as zero and are unavailable.
Changes that normally trigger a preview do not provide a billing preview for the scheduled order.
If preview on demand is enabled, the Preview Metrics button remains disabled.
An inline message indicates that preview is unavailable for scheduled orders.
Preview API behavior
For a scheduled order, the global zQuoteUtil.previewQuotes method returns the following result:
success = true
No charge metrics
The message - Preview is unavailable for scheduled orders
Callers can use the returned message to identify that preview is unavailable for a scheduled order. For non-scheduled quotes, preview behavior remains unchanged.
