Consolidation to multi-tenant
Manage data from multiple standalone tenants more efficiently by consolidation to multi-entity tenant.
Consolidation involves establishing a net new multi-entity tenant and merging all standalone tenants into it through data copy. A multi-entity tenant can help you manage data efficiently, for example, when handling mergers and acquisitions, centralized integrations with third-party tools, or streamlined revenue recognition.
There may be instances when consolidating tenants may be necessary while keeping the associated data segregated.
Considerations for planning multi-tenant consolidation
-
Migrations for both environments are to be scheduled independently and completed on separate days. Central Sandbox tenants are not copied over but are regenerated from the new tenant through the CSBX Refresh process.
-
The global tenant IDs remain unchanged. However, the source tenant ID of the tenant to be merged will have a new ID.
-
A change in the global tenant ID results in user login history and audit trail data not being copied over for both environments.
-
The total downtime during the consolidation process for each environment ranges from 1 to 2 minutes.
-
A feature freeze window of 1-3 hours applies, during which the features should not be interacted with.
