Delete a role

Learn how to delete user roles, except for the default Owner and Administrator roles, and understand the implications for users assigned to these roles.

You can delete any custom user roles that you have added. The default Owner and Administrator roles cannot be deleted. Only users with the Owner role can delete users who have the Administrator role. Administrators do not have permission to delete other Administrator users.

If you delete a custom user role, any users currently assigned to that role are automatically reassigned to the Administrator role. If the deleted role allowed users to generate shareable links, that privilege is removed when the users are reassigned.

  1. Select the Admin User Settings icon.
  2. Select Roles .
  3. Select the three dots at the end of the row for the user role you want to delete.
  4. Select Delete .
  5. Select the Yes! Delete button to delete the user role.
