Enable 3DS2 for Nuvei gateway integration

Learn how to enable 3D Secure 2.0 (3DS2) for the Nuvei gateway so you can support Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) on card payments in Payment Pages 2.0.

Complete the following prerequisites:

  • Create and configure a Nuvei gateway instance in Zuora.
  • Create a Credit Card Payment Page 2.0 for the customer-initiated payment flow.
  • To use merchant-initiated transactions (MIT), first create and authenticate the payment method through a 3DS2-authenticated customer-initiated transaction (CIT). Later MIT flows use the stored Nuvei credential from the authenticated CIT.

The Nuvei 3DS2 integration in Zuora supports Hosted Payment Method (HPM) 2.0 and Payment Pages 2.0 flows for multi-country card processing in Europe and Latin America.

Zuora hosts Payment Pages 2.0 as a secure, PCI-compliant payment experience that you can embed in your site through an iFrame.

  1. Open the Credit Card Payment Page 2.0 that you want to configure for 3DS2.
  2. Activate the 3D Secure 2.0 option.
  3. In the Default Payment Gateway list, select your Nuvei gateway instance.
  4. Complete the remaining Payment Page settings and save the page.

The Payment Page is ready to process card payments with 3DS2 authentication through Nuvei.

Tip: Keep CAPTCHA and other Payment Pages 2.0 security controls active with 3DS2 to reduce fraudulent and automated attempts. Payment Pages 2.0 supports layered protections such as CAPTCHA and submission rate limiting.
