Set up Adyen Payment Method Updater
Learn how to configure the Adyen Account Updater in Zuora to automatically update payment methods through the Adyen gateway.
Before you configure the Payment Method Updater (PMU) service for Adyen, complete the following prerequisites:
-
Confirm that you are in a region where the Adyen Account Updater service is supported.
-
Work directly with Adyen Support to set up your updater account and SFTP server. For more information, see Account Updater and Advanced SFTP batch files. If Adyen returns an unencrypted PMU result file, Zuora cannot process that file format. The PMU batch can fail, and closed-account notifications or other updates in that file might not be applied.
- Ask Adyen Support to enable the genericBatchAlwaysEncryptResultIfReceivedEncrypted setting for your merchant account. This setting ensures that Adyen uploads encrypted PMU result files to the SFTP server. If this setting is not enabled and a batch contains no card updates, Adyen can return an unencrypted result file, which the current Zuora Adyen PMU integration does not process. As a result, the batch can fail, and closed-account notifications or other updates in that file might not be applied.
Ask Adyen Support to enable the
genericBatchAlwaysEncryptResultIfReceivedEncryptedsetting for the merchant account that you use for Adyen Payment Method Updater (PMU). This setting ensures that Adyen always returns PMU result files in encrypted format, including batches with no card updates.-
To use the Batch Account Updater from Adyen, confirm that the Merchant Recurring Role permission is enabled on your Adyen merchant account.
-
Download the public PGP key files provided by Zuora for Sandbox and Production, and add the key files to your Adyen account.
-
Download the public SSH key files provided by Zuora for Sandbox and Production, and add the key files to your Adyen SFTP account.
Note: Zuora deletes the response file from the SFTP server after processing it. Therefore, you cannot associate multiple tenants with the same SFTP server. -
Configure outbound IP addresses from Zuora based on your region for IP allowlisting. For more information, see Inbound and outbound IP addresses.
In some Adyen PMU scenarios where no card updates are returned, Adyen can generate an unencrypted result file. Zuora's current Adyen PMU integration does not process this unencrypted file format. This can cause the batch to fail and can prevent closed-account notifications or other updates in that file from being applied.
