The following table describes the general methodology that Zuora uses for response codes by level:

Response code

Description

Recommended next steps

1xx

The upload or download completed successfully. A 1xx code does not indicate that the updater service has finished its check.

No action is required.

2xx

The credentials or configurations on the Payment Method Updater configuration page are incorrect.

Correct the credentials or configuration, and then run the batch again.

3xx

A communication error occurred, such as a socket exception during file upload or download, an authentication failure, or a failure to connect to the gateway server.

Contact your gateway's support team.

4xx

A general system failure occurred, such as a WebDAV error, a SafeNet error, an ActiveMQ error, or a failure to parse the result file.

Submit a ticket with the tracking number to Zuora Global Support. After the issue is resolved, retry the batch manually.

5xx

The response code is returned by the payment gateway's updater service and indicates whether the credit cards in the batch file were updated.

Review the gateway response message and the optional gateway response code in the message. Contact the gateway's support team to clarify the meaning of the response code or message.

For gateway-specific response codes, see CyberSource troubleshooting, Vantiv troubleshooting, or WorldPay troubleshooting.
