Dashboard creation and management
Create and manage dashboards by adding chart widgets, arranging layouts, configuring refresh and sharing settings, and understanding data freshness and drill-through capabilities.
To create a dashboard when the charts and dashboard capability is enabled:
Go to .
Click Create Dashboard.
Give your dashboard a name and description.
Add chart widgets by selecting from existing charts or reports.
Arrange and resize chart widgets to create your layout.
Configure refresh behavior and sharing settings.
Save your dashboard.
Dashboards can combine charts from multiple sources when you have access to those sources. Each widget on your Dashboard shows the current data for its underlying chart or report.
Data freshness and timestamps
Charts and Dashboard widgets display data freshness information to help you understand how current your data is. The dataset source mode (live or aggregated) determines the refresh cadence. A live dataset shows current operational data, while an aggregated dataset may have a different refresh schedule optimized for analytical queries.
When a chart or widget is based on a saved report, the data reflects the results of the last completed report run. Timestamps show when the underlying data was last updated, allowing you to make informed decisions based on data freshness.
Drill-through and interactivity
Supported charts allow you to drill through to underlying data. Click on a data point in a chart to view the detailed records that make up the aggregated value. This capability is available when enabled and when the underlying dataset supports row-level detail access. Drill-through helps you quickly investigate trends or anomalies in your visualizations.
