AI Labs

AI Labs in Command Center lets you manage AI behavior, capabilities, and governance for your organization’s tenants.

AI capabilities available in Zuora Labs

Enabled tenants can access the AI capabilities currently included in Zuora Labs.

Chat with Zuora AI

Chat with Zuora AI provides an in-product AI assistant for asking questions, investigating issues, and taking guided actions across Zuora.

Available chat experiences include the Side Panel and Full Screen Mode. Labs also includes chat-related capabilities such as Runbooks, Controls, and Thinking.

Integrated AI

Integrated AI brings AI-generated summaries, insights, and smart actions directly into the Zuora interface.

For example, Narrative Summaries help users quickly understand the data they are viewing across Billing, Revenue, and other product areas.

Zuora Remote MCP Servers

Zuora Remote MCP Servers let supported AI tools connect directly to Zuora.

MCP support follows the same tenant-level enablement and permission model managed in AI Labs.

AI permission levels

AI Labs includes a tenant-level permission setting that determines how AI operates in a tenant.

Use Read-Only when you want users to explore AI-generated answers, summaries, and recommendations without allowing AI to take write actions.

Use Read-Write when you want AI to support operational workflows that may include write actions. In Read-Write mode, Zuora AI respects existing permissions and requires human approval before executing any action. AI does not take actions autonomously.

These tenant-level settings also apply to Zuora Remote MCP Servers. For example, if a tenant is set to Read-Only, MCP-connected tools cannot modify data in that tenant.

What you can manage in AI Labs

In AI Labs, you can do the following for each tenant:

  • Enable or disable Zuora AI for the tenant.
  • Set the tenant’s AI Permission Level to No AI, Read-Only, or Read-Write.
  • Review which AI capabilities are included in Zuora Labs.
  • See the What’s New change log for the latest weekly feature additions, improvements, and fixes.

Governance and access considerations

AI Labs provides tenant-level governance, but standard Zuora permissions still apply.

  • All AI actions that change system state require explicit user approval before execution.
  • AI activity is recorded in audit logs, and AI conversations are stored.
  • Administrators can define Controls within Zuora AI to add guardrails for AI behavior in a tenant.
