Release of Holds
Learn how holds can be configured and released in Zuora Revenue, including manual, event-based, and expiry-based release options.
You can allow the hold to be manually released by toggling the Allow Manual Release switch to Yes . If a hold cannot be manually released, you must specify the release event.
To release a hold based on events, the hold event data must be uploaded to Zuora Revenue. Then, the RevPro3.0 Event Release program can be started to process the data to release the selected holds. After a hold is processed, it will never be applied again.
Holds can be released manually, via event ingestion, or upon expiration.
When configuring a hold, it is mandatory to define how it can be cleared. At a minimum, you must either set Allow Manual Release to Yes or assign a Release Event or enable both.
Once applied, holds can be released in three ways:
Event-Based Release: Hold event data is uploaded to Zuora Revenue and processed via the Event Release program. Important: Only event-based releases permanently exclude the line from future holds; once an event clears a hold, that specific hold will not be applied to that line again. For hold event configurations, refer to Event Setup.
Manual Release: Users can clear holds directly from the Workbench. Note that a manual release does not permanently block the hold. If the transaction data changes and meets the criteria again later, the system may re-apply the hold.
Expiry-Based Release: Holds configured with an expiration timeframe will be cleared upon running the Immediate POB Release program.
