Subscription owner and invoice owner for child quotes in Multi Subscription Quoting

Specify subscription owner and invoice owner for child quote

Learn how child subscription ownership and invoicing are configured in an MSQ child quote.

  • Ensure that Multi Subscription Quoting is enabled in your Salesforce org.

  • Ensure that you are creating a New Multi-Sub Billing Account quote if you want to use the New option for Subscription Owner Type.

  • Ensure that your Salesforce administrator configured the zqu__CPQX_Subscription_Owner field set.

The Subscription Owner section, especially the Subscription Owner Type field, is available at the child quote level only in specific MSQ flows.

The fields shown in the Subscription Owner section depend on the selected Subscription Owner Type. Fields for the New option are hidden when the type is set to Existing or Same as Invoice Owner.

  1. Open the child quote in the MSQ flow where the Subscription Owner section is available.
  2. In the Subscription Owner section, select a value for Subscription Owner Type.
  3. Complete the fields based on the option you selected:

    • Same as Invoice Owner: The subscription is owned and invoiced by the same billing account selected on the parent quote. No additional fields are displayed.

    • Existing: Select an existing Zuora billing account as the Subscription Owner. You can also optionally select an existing billing account as the Invoice Owner for the subscription.

    • New: Enter the details for a new Zuora billing account that will be created as the Subscription Owner for the subscription.

      Provide the available account and billing details such as Billing Account Name, Bill To Contact, Sold To Contact, Ship To Contact if enabled, Bill Cycle Day, Currency, Payment Method, Payment Term, and Billing Batch.

Depending on the selected Subscription Owner Type, Zuora CPQ either:

  • uses the parent quote billing account as both the Subscription Owner and Invoice Owner.

  • uses an existing billing account as the Subscription Owner and optionally a different existing billing account as the Invoice Owner, or

  • creates a new billing account as the Subscription Owner while keeping the parent quote billing account as the Invoice Owner.
