Learn how to activate and configure the Smart Routing feature from the Routing page.

1. On the Select connections page, add at least two eligible provider connections.
2. Click Next.
3. Switch the Smart Routing toggle to active.
4. In the Which providers will you include in Smart Routing? section, select at least two eligible providers. Verify that each selected provider is unpaused.
5. In the How do you want to optimize your payments? section, choose an optimization goal.
   • Choose Conversion rate and latency to optimize processing time while maintaining the highest conversion rate.
   • Choose Conversion rate and costs to optimize cost while maintaining the highest conversion rate. If you choose this option, you need to set up costs by clicking the Set up costs link if you haven't configured provider costs in the Connections area.
6. In the How do you want to apply Smart Routing? section, choose how Smart Routing handles traffic.
   • Choose Automatic to let Smart Routing handle 100% of the traffic.
   • Choose Manual to define the percentage of traffic that Smart Routing handles.
7. (Optional) In Advanced settings, specify the decline reasons that Smart Routing does not retry.

   • If you select Select decline types, select one or multiple decline types from the list of response codes or MAC codes.

   • If you select Select decline groups, select one or multiple decline groups.

8. Click Finish.
