Manual application of hold

Learn prerequisites and key behaviors for manually applying holds in the Workbench, including template visibility, line- and charge-level exclusions, and soft-freeze limitations.

Before you begin

  • Template Visibility: For a hold to be available in the manual Workbench dropdown menus, the hold template must be configured with Allow Manual Apply set to Yes.

  • Line-Level Exclusions: Remember that manually applying a line-level hold excludes that specific transaction line from automated line-level criteria hold processing during Data Collection.

  • Soft-Freezes: If your accounting period is in a Soft-Freeze state for holds, the system may block you from manually applying holds until the freeze is lifted.

  • Charge-Level Holds (OTR Only): There is no separate setup or configuration template for a Charge-level hold. Because a Charge-level hold is functionally a Line-level hold, its behavior, eligibility, and manual availability are driven entirely by your Line-level hold configurations. The Charge option is strictly an aggregation view used to execute Line-level actions on multiple segments simultaneously.
