Limits policy for API Sandbox and Developer Sandbox environments

Summarizes record storage limits and API rate limits for API Sandbox and Developer Sandbox environments.

These limits are in effect from January 1, 2024. If you have an existing environment that exceeds the limits, Zuora can work with you to ensure that your environments are within the limits before your next renewal date. Contact your Zuora account team if you have any questions or concerns.

Environment

Record storage limit (total of Accounts + Subscriptions)

API rate limit

API Sandbox

5,000 records

E.g., 2,500 accounts and 2,500 subscriptions

10,000 API calls within a 24 hour window

Developer Sandbox

250,000 records

50,000 API calls within a 24 hour window

Zuora applies the limits on a per-environment basis. For example, if you have two Developer Sandbox environments, each environment has a record storage limit of 250,000 records. Additionally, each version of the subscription is considered its own unique record with unique account IDs to calculate these limits.

Consider the following additional information about limits:

  • Zuora will proactively contact you if an environment is nearing a limit.

  • If an environments exceeds a record storage limit, you can continue to use the environment, but you cannot create new data in the environment.

  • If an environment exceeds an API rate limit, subsequent API calls within the 24-hour window will fail.

  • Your Zuora account team can provide a clean-up script to assist with data compliance to ensure that your environments stay within the limits. If you choose not to apply the script to meet the limits, your account team can work with you on an upgrade path for your environment.

  • You cannot raise the limits for API Sandbox and Developer Sandbox environments. However, you can purchase a Central Sandbox environment, which has higher data storage limits.
