Set authorization text for Direct Debit payment methods
Learn how to set the debit authorization text for a direct debit payment method in the payment form.
- Ensure that your payment service provider supports the Direct Debit payment method, and the payment method you want to configure is enabled in the Payment method settings section.
Ensure that the Creditor ID is set in the corresponding connection.

Direct debit payment methods require you to present authorization text that tells customers what they are agreeing to when they authorize a debit from their bank account. By default, Zuora displays compliant authorization text for you. Turn off this setting only if you render your own authorization text in your payment form.
If you turn off the authorization text, you are responsible for presenting compliant authorization text to your customers and for passing the mandate details through the API. Zuora records this choice in the audit trail.
- In the left navigation pane, navigate to .
- In the Payment method settings section, locate the direct debit payment method that you want to configure.
- Click the More actions menu next to the payment method, and then select Set authorization text.
- In the Debit authorization text dialog, enable the Show authorization text toggle button to allow Zuora to display the authorization text in your checkout experience.
- Click Save.
- Click Publish settings to apply the change to your live checkout experience.
