Configure 3DS in Modernized Zuora Payments

A step-by-step guide to walk you through how to enable 3DS in your payment flows with Modernized Zuora Payments.

Choose your 3DS-enabled payment flow

Depending on the payment service provider and the issuing bank, the payment flow can continue without additional payer action or can require the payer to complete an additional verification step before the payment continues. You can find more information in the 3D Secure overview in Modernized Zuora Payments.

Choose either of the following approaches to enable 3DS in your payment flow:

Test approach

After you configure 3DS, test the supported payment flow that applies to your implementation.

Depending on your implementation, testing can be part of a checkout-based flow or another supported payment flow that uses your configured payment connection, 3DS provider, and routing setup.

Use the setup guidance for your payment gateway integration when planning and running 3DS tests.

When you test 3DS, verify that the payment flow behaves as expected in the scenarios that apply to your implementation.

  • Payment flows that complete without an additional payer verification step.
  • Payment flows that require an additional payer verification step.
  • Final payment outcomes after the authentication step completes.

Test a 3DS-enabled payment flow

Complete the 3DS configuration tasks for your payment connection, 3DS provider, and routing setup. If your implementation uses checkout, make sure card payments are activated for the flow that you want to test.

  1. Start a test payment by using the supported payment flow for your implementation.
  2. Submit the payment by using the payment connection, 3DS configuration, and routing setup that you configured for 3DS.
  3. Verify that the payment flow completes without requiring an additional payer verification step.
  4. Confirm the final payment outcome for the test transaction.

The payment flow completes without an additional payer verification step, and the final payment outcome reflects the result of the transaction.
