How Card Account Updater works

Card Account Updater operates asynchronously and independently of payment processing. Eligible stored cards are checked for updates, and the card details are refreshed when the card issuer provides updated information.

Zuora can update a card when:

• The card has passed its expiration date.
• The account associated with the card is closed, disabled, or flagged by the issuer.

Depending on the card issuer, Zuora might update the complete card details or only the expiration date.

After Zuora updates a card, no action is required from you. The updated card remains available for future payments.

Control participation for individual cards

When Card Account Updater is active for your account, eligible stored cards participate by default.

You can exclude an individual card when you add it to your account. An excluded card does not receive automatic card-detail updates. Cards that you do not exclude remain covered by the Card Account Updater configuration for your account.
