Observe Mode lets you evaluate Zuora Fraud Protection before you use fraud decisions to enforce payment controls.

When Observe Mode is enabled, Zuora sends the relevant payment and device signals to LexisNexis ThreatMetrix for evaluation and records the evaluation results. ThreatMetrix can return Pass, Review, or Reject results, but the result does not change how Zuora processes the payment.

In Observe Mode:

• Zuora sends the transaction through the Zuora Fraud Protection evaluation flow.

• Zuora records the ThreatMetrix evaluation result for analysis.

• A Pass, Review, or Reject result does not block the transaction or prevent it from being submitted to the payment gateway.

• A ThreatMetrix result does not change the payment processing status or the authorization request.

• If a fraud decision cannot be generated, the transaction continues through the payment flow.

Observe Mode is intended for eligible production tenants that are participating in a Zuora Fraud Protection evaluation. Contact Zuora Global Support or your Zuora account team to request enablement. Zuora manages the configuration required for Observe Mode.

After your evaluation, Zuora can disable Observe Mode or help you transition to the standard fraud-enforcement flow. In the standard flow, the fraud decision determines whether the transaction is submitted to the gateway or blocked before authorization.
