Human-Readable Split Test and Variant Names in the Zephr Data Layer

The Zephr Data Layer exposes human-readable split test and variant names so you can identify experiment assignments in analytics and integrations without relying on UUIDs or letter-based variants.

When a user is assigned to a split test, the Zephr Data Layer includes human-readable names for the split test and the assigned variant or test group. You can use these values to identify experiment assignments in analytics platforms and downstream integrations without interpreting UUIDs or A/B test letters.

Existing Data Layer fields and identifiers remain available for backward compatibility.

Example

{
  "splitTests": [
    {
      "splitTestId": "8c7f1e2a-4f8c-4a6c-9b21-123456789abc",
      "splitTestName": "Registration Test",
      "testGroup": {
        "value": "A",
        "name": "Registration Required",
        "parentSplitTestId": "8c7f1e2a-4f8c-4a6c-9b21-123456789abc"
      }
    }
  ]
}

In this example:

splitTestId is the existing split-test identifier.

splitTestName is the readable split-test name.

testGroup.value is the existing variant or test-group value.

testGroup.name is the readable variant or test-group name.

parentSplitTestId links the test group to its parent split test.
